Dunhuang Yadan Geological Park, also known as Dunhuang Devil City, is located on the Gobi Desert 180 kilometers northwest of Dunhuang City. It is an important landscape for tourists to visit the western route of Dunhuang, including Yumen Pass, Han Great Wall, Yangguan, Xiqianfo Cave and other attractions.
The park is dominated by a vast array of unique Yadan landforms, which appear fantastic and spectacular on the Gobi Desert. In the evening, the setting sun shines westward, making it an excellent location for photography shoots.
The Devil City has a large area, about 25 kilometers long and 13 kilometers wide, with various wind eroded landscapes of different shapes distributed throughout. There are two areas in the scenic area, the North Line and the South Line. Tourists can take the shuttle bus to play the North Line and then end their tour, which takes about 1.5-2 hours. You can also take an off-road vehicle after exploring the northern route and then explore the southern route, which takes about 3-4 hours to complete.
The shuttle bus in the scenic area is equipped with a tour guide. After entering the scenic area, tourists need to take the shuttle bus to play. The shuttle bus will stop at four scenic spots on the north line of the park, namely Golden Lion Welcome, Pyramid, Peacock, and West Sea Fleet. Tourists ride in the same car throughout the trip, stopping at each attraction for about 10-30 minutes.
The Golden Lion Welcome, Pyramid, and Peacock are all individual wind eroded stone mountains, with shapes very similar to their names. The Western Sea Fleet is a landform group, and this scenic spot is particularly spectacular among the four viewing spots. The battleships resembling a fleet are arranged in parallel on the Gobi Desert, resembling a fleet and very unique. In addition, in areas where vehicles do not stop, there are also many unique wind eroded rock formations on both sides, with different shapes, so don't miss them when taking the bus.
After arriving at the Western Sea warship, you can return to the original route with the vehicle to end the game, or take an off-road vehicle to further explore the southern route. The area of the southern line is larger than that of the northern line, and there are more landscapes, including the portraits of multiple celebrities, cartoon images, as well as the Golden Turtle Playing with Toad, Dragon Playing with Pearl, and Tiansheng Bridge, with a wide variety. And there is also desert scenery here, where you can enter the desert for sightseeing and shoot sunsets together in the desert. When taking a ride, you can discuss with the driver and park in front of your favorite scenic spots to take photos, which is quite casual, so taking an off-road vehicle is still worth it.
