Commander Zhang's Mansion


The Former Residence of General Zhang Xueliang in Tianjin "is the official residence of patriotic general Zhang Xueliang, where he lived and worked in Tianjin. The former residence of General Zhang Xueliang includes: the museum of General Zhang Xueliang's residence in Tianjin for 7 years in the southern district, and the 1920s Tianjin miniature cultural and tourism block in the northern district that restores General Zhang Xueliang's life, presenting a panoramic view of "a hundred years of history looking at Tianjin". The nearly 10000 square meter real-life cultural and tourism block, constructed at a cost of tens of millions of yuan, features over a thousand authentic historical displays from a hundred years ago. The former residence was first built in 1921, with a beautiful and elegant French Baroque style architecture. The second and third floors of the front have a rooftop balcony. The interior is spacious and exquisite, and even today, it still retains the architectural structures of a century old Philippine hardwood staircase, floor, doors and windows. The museum includes rooms such as General Zhang Xueliang's reception banquet hall, office study, military and political council hall, Zhao Yidi's bedroom, and Miss Si's reception room, which fully restore the original living conditions of General Zhang Xueliang and Ms. Zhao Yidi here. Here, tourists can also learn about the stories and secrets of General Zhang Xueliang's interactions with historical figures such as Sun Yat sen, Zhang Boling, Zhang Daqian, and Mei Lanfang.
