Former residence of Zhang Juzheng


Zhang Juzheng was a famous politician and reformer in Chinese history. Li Zhi, a renowned philosopher and writer in the Ming Dynasty, referred to him as the "hero of prime ministers".

Former residence of Zhang Juzheng was a temporary residence when he returned to his hometown to bury his father in the sixth year of the Wanli reign. This is a garden style building imitating the Ming and Qing dynasties, with five courtyards and four levels of courtyards. The layout of the east room and west garden is about 7000 square meters. The former residence includes attractions such as the Taishi Residence, Lantang, Pengri Tower, and the exhibition of "Imperial Mirror Illustrations".

The small bridge and flowing water are dynamic and exquisite. As a famous historical and cultural city, Zhang Juzheng's former residence is also a popular spot for tourists to check in when visiting Jingzhou.
