Sunshine is nature's most beautiful gift to humanity. When we bask in the sunshine, it can make all the "evil" in the world nowhere to hide. It can make all beauty and simplicity ripple on people's faces again, kindness flowing outward like a clear spring in the heart. Therefore, space designers who have "light" in their hearts have an almost obsessive "obsession" with sunlight, allowing them to design works with different "understandings" and "human worth" of light. In my opinion, Dali's "Wu'er Yinshe Half Mountain Homestay" is such a space design work with a deep sense of "cleanliness" and "purity", and with "light"! The origin of "Wuyi Yinshe Half Mountain Homestay" is located in Wenbi Village, Haidong Town, Dali, adjacent to Erhai Lake and overlooking Cangshan Mountain. The unique geographical environment has enabled generations of people to live here without worries about food and clothing, but it has gradually drifted away from the huge background of the changing times. The leisurely and soothing pace of life is certainly ideal, but it cannot be denied that it still belongs to the context of "agricultural civilization". Today, it has been abandoned by the younger generation who pursue modern life and the "fast-paced" and "Gatsby style" mentality of overnight wealth. "Wenbi Village" has become a "hollowed out" settlement, unable to escape the fate of "being forgotten". The designer had visited Dali and Wenbi Village many years ago, and was filled with longing and love for Cangshan and Erhai Lake. He couldn't forget the sunshine, depth, and peaceful lifestyle of Erhai Lake. By chance, the owner and designer found this place and rented houses from villagers, incorporating them into the logistics service system of the homestay hotel! The underlying life logic of 'Wenbi Village' has been changed! When the designer was commissioned to design the "Wuyi Yinshe Half Mountain Homestay", the deep affection for Cangshan, Erhai Lake, and sunshine that had been buried in his heart for many years was awakened. He created a homestay space architecture that integrates time, memory, and sunshine - Wuyi Yinshe Half Mountain Sea View Homestay. 01 Survey and sorting out: This is a space that combines Eastern vacation homestays with the characteristics of a Bai fishing village, providing a great sense of experience! After carefully surveying the terrain and landforms where the homestay is located, the designer found that it is a typical sloping residential building located halfway up the mountain. The lower terrain allows for unobstructed bird's-eye views of Erhai Lake, while the higher ground is deeply planted in the middle of the mountain. So, the designer came up with an ambitious idea: to build a new building with local Bai ethnic architectural features on an empty land near Erhai Lake, integrating with the old buildings on high ground to form a building settlement. The two buildings have a height difference of nearly ten meters and are connected by a pedestrian staircase, forming an interesting and sloping staircase like building. In the design process of "Wuyi Hidden House Half Mountain Homestay", the designer mostly considered the question of why and how people "stay" during the vacation. The designer believes that the most direct difference between people living in homestays and those living in cities for business purposes is the distinction of "purpose". In Dali, we "temporarily reside" to embrace life. Therefore, in addition to recognizing the characteristics of "being here", we should also have a "universal" lifestyle that is in line with the proposition of "vacation". Therefore, it is particularly important to incorporate the quality of contemporary life into the "temporary residence" system. So, in addition to bringing the tranquility of Erhai Lake and the silence of Cangshan Mountain with the purity of sunshine into daily life, the designer also incorporated a quality lifestyle into the experience of "half mountain homestay" without avoiding or rejecting all possibilities of life, making the "temporary residence" life appear "heavenly". In the treatment of the sea view space, corridor, and social space of the "Wuyi Yinshe Half Mountain Homestay", the designer boldly borrowed and used the internationally accepted "minimalist" design and inductive and metaphorical practices. The third floor used an endless pool and the third floor's viewing, dining, and bar were organically combined, allowing people's activities and interactions to transition and be transparent in simplicity, care, and moderate indoor brightness, making the homestay light and airy. The 03 inch light and shadow are here, and the designer has grasped the sense of "unfamiliarity". This sense of unfamiliarity is mainly reflected in the handling of sunlight. Dali's sunshine is famous worldwide and has become the most charming "sunshine bath" in China, but it also gives people a mindset of sunbathing in a windy environment of the Bai ethnic group. This is one of the reasons why Dali cannot be classified as an international "vacation destination". So, the designer borrowed the environmental factors of Thai tourism and vacation, interweaving openness, publicness, and privacy naturally and flexibly: within the two buildings, the traffic flow is flexible and varied, the width is suitable, and the openness and closure are natural, fully ensuring the privacy needs and social needs between strangers. The sunshine freely shuttles between the wooden grid, glass brick roof, and walls, flowing on the textured walls, feeling the passage of time. Light and shadow are the most thoughtful and exciting aspects of designer Yi Ping's handling of the "Wu'er Yinshe Half Mountain Homestay". Due to its sharpness and directness, the building presents a simple temperament in the sunlight. When taking pictures of this work, the designer placed the light and shadow relationship at the limit of camera processing, creating an almost "explosive" image. These images are projected onto windows, glass, and wooden grid walls of varying scales, reflecting on wooden doors, raw stones, and gravel floors, as well as between plants and nature, making it difficult for people to grasp the fleeting "light" and feeling that light in Dali is like water and air. Our lives are born in such an environment, facing the sun. This is the charm of 'Wuyi Hidden House Half Mountain Homestay'!
