Mingshi Tianyuan is located on the west side of Daxin County, Chongzuo City, about an hour's drive from the famous Detian Waterfall Scenic Area. Tourists usually visit both scenic spots together. Mingshi Tianyuan is a unique karst landform with beautiful mountains and flowing water surrounding it, creating a stunning scenery.
In addition to the picturesque scenery of mountains and rivers, the scenic area also boasts fresh and simple villages, farmland, and other scenery. Tourists can take bamboo rafts for drifting, take photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery and peaceful rural life here. The popular TV series' Flower Thousand Bones' once filmed here, making it even more famous.
The Mingshi Countryside covers a large area, mainly including the natural rivers and pastoral scenery upstream of the Mingshi River, as well as the Zhuang ethnic residential museum built downstream. There are two ways for tourists to come and play: bamboo raft drifting and land sightseeing. Generally, it is more appropriate to prepare half a day to come and play. Many tourists also choose to stay overnight in the scenic area, leisurely enjoying the surrounding scenery and experiencing the freshness and tranquility of rural life.
Bamboo raft drifting is a popular way to visit scenic spots. You can first arrive at the Zhuang Ethnic Museum downstream, where you can purchase drifting tickets. There are sightseeing buses that can take tourists to the starting point of the drifting. The drifting takes about an hour, and the boat is equipped with a tour guide who can explain all the way. On the drifting road, you can see beautiful mountain peaks reflected in the river water, and the scenery is very similar to the yellow cloth reflection in Guilin; It will also pass through farmland areas with crisscrossing paths and quiet villages, creating a picturesque rural landscape that is refreshing and invigorating.
The endpoint of bamboo raft drifting is the Zhuang Residential Museum Park, which includes totem squares, artificial lake views, Zhuang villages, tusi dwellings, and charming streets. The main features are sculptures and residential buildings that reflect Zhuang customs, which can be visited briefly. In addition, there are often Zhuang ethnic song and dance performances here, and if you encounter them, you can stop and watch them.
Another way of sightseeing is on land. First, you can visit the Zhuang Ethnic Residential Museum Park, and then rent a bicycle to ride around and explore the surrounding area. Bicycles are often rented from local hotels or farmers, and a cycling route map is provided when renting. There are several routes to choose from along the road next to the scenic area. It is generally recommended to head northwest (i.e. towards the upper reaches of the river) to enjoy beautiful karst and pastoral scenery similar to bamboo raft drifting.

Outside the scenic area, there are express hotels such as Mingshi Art Hotel and Mingshi Express Hotel, as well as some local farmhouses with good environments. You can choose to stay according to your personal interests.
Dining is mostly done at the accommodation, where you can order some authentic rural dishes, taste them, and experience rural life.
