The Chenghuang Temple of Luzhou Prefecture, located in the west section of Anqing Road, Hefei City, was a Luzhou Prefecture Temple in the Qing Dynasty. The Chenghuang Temple in Luzhou Prefecture was built in the third year of Huangyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1051). In the fourth year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1854), the Taiping Army attacked Hefei and was destroyed by the war. In the tenth year of the Tongzhi reign (1871), local officials raised funds for reconstruction, but due to a lack of funds, work was halted midway. In the fifth year of the Guangxu reign (1879), Li Hezhang, the younger brother of Li Hongzhang, raised funds to continue the construction. In the past, the flag pole in front of the temple stood tall, with stone lions facing each other at the entrance of the mountain. There were three mountain gates and five ear chambers on each side; 5 theater buildings, 4 ear rooms on each side; There are 3 main halls and 3 ear chambers on each side; There are 12 east and 12 west wing rooms between the main hall and the theater. There is an iron incense burner in front of the main hall. There is a statue of the City God in the hall and a statue of the City God's wife in the wing room. The East and West are dedicated to the Ten Halls of Hell and have facilities for the Yin Court's criminal prison. In the old days, during the Spring Festival and the birthday of the City God on the 29th day of the seventh lunar month, officials and faithful men and women from Luzhou Prefecture and Hefei County would come to offer incense and worship. There were continuous performances of the "Mu Lian Jiu Mu" tribute to the gods in the theater, and small merchants, vendors, and tourists also flocked to the temple streets, causing chaos in the market. In the 1950s, the stone lions at the entrance of the mountain were smashed, the statues inside the temple were swept away, and the ancient buildings were also destroyed, leaving only the mountain gate, theater building, main hall, and empress hall.
