Turpan Museum is the second largest museum in Xinjiang, collecting over 5000 exquisite cultural relics unearthed from the Turpan region, ranging from the Paleolithic era to modern times. It is a miniature encyclopedia that provides insights into the social, political, military, economic, and cultural life of Turpan throughout history.
The entire exhibition hall is divided into three parts: the Unearthed Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall, the Ancient Corpse Exhibition Hall, and the Giant Rhinoceros Fossil Hall. The Ancient Corpse Exhibition Hall is a mysterious and attractive exhibition hall. The 11 mummies exhibited here are ancient corpses from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period to the Qing Dynasty. The giant rhinoceros fossils displayed in the exhibition hall are the treasure of the Turpan Museum.
