Jiaohe Ancient City is located about 10 kilometers west of Turpan city. It was founded by chariot drivers from around the 2nd century BC to the 5th century AD and was very prosperous during the Northern and Southern Dynasties and Tang Dynasty. At present, this ancient city is a complete urban relic that has been preserved for over two thousand years in China, and it is very worth visiting.
The area of the ancient city is relatively large, with a length of over 1600 meters from north to south and a width of about 300 meters from east to west. It is divided into temples, residential buildings, government offices, and other parts. The buildings in the ancient city are all made of rammed earth, which is very distinctive.
