What to see

The main body of Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area is in the shape of "Y", consisting of Shuzheng Valley, Rize Valley and Zechawa Valley, with a total length of more than 50 kilometers. There are environmentally friendly sightseeing buses shuttling around the scenic area, waving and stopping. Tourists usually take the environmentally friendly buses to visit the attractions one by one.

Zechawa Valley

Zechawa Valley is a tourist route from Norilang to Changhai, which is nearly 18 kilometers long with a high altitude in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area. The scenic spots are concentrated at the end of the valley. The main attractions include: Seasonal Sea, Colorful Pool, Changhai, etc. Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area Scenic Area is distributed in the shape of "Y", in which Zechawa Valley is located on the left branch.

The Seasonal Sea is located above the Zechawa Gully, and the lake water changes with the seasons. It is divided into upper, middle, and lower seasonal seas, and there are primitive forests nearby.

The Seasonal sea is surrounded by forests, whre pine vines dance lightly and moss covers the ground. The deep blue lake surface looks like a solidified gem. The so-called seasonal sea refers to the sea that appears or disappears with the variation of rainfall in different seasons.

The Five Colored Pool , a small sea with a deep blue surface, is located in the south of Zechawa Valley. As the most beautiful pool in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area, it is not frozen all the year round. It is famous for its beauty, color, purity, and transparency. Due to the high content of calcium carbonate in the water, the lake's light and shadow are mottled. When there is sunshine, it is a good time to take photos. Different positions and angles will present different colors.

The water in the Five Colored Pool comes from the high sea, where aquatic plant communities such as water sponges, diatoms, and ferns grow, as well as herbaceous plants such as reeds, ferns, and water wicks. These plants have different shades of chlorophyll content, and in lakes rich in calcium carbonate, they appear in different colors, making the upper half of the colorful pool blue-green, the lower half orange red, the left side sky blue, and the right side olive green, colorful. The water in the colorful pool is clear and transparent. Through the surface of the water, the patterns on the rocks at the bottom of the pool can be clearly seen, shining with colorful light under the sunshine.

The Changhai Lake is a large lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area. It freezes from December to April of the next year. It is more than four kilometers long, dark blue, "S" shaped distribution. The trees by the sea are dense, and at a glance, towering snow peaks and typical glacier landscapes are bathed in the blue sky and white clouds, creating a spectacular and beautiful sight.

Changhai LAKE.jpg

Changhai has an altitude of over 3000 meters and is the highest sea in the ditch. There are no outlets around Changhai, and the water source comes from melting snow in the mountains. Strangely, Changhai never dries up or overflows its banks, so Tibetans call it the "treasure gourd" that cannot be fully loaded and leaked. The long sea is dark blue in color, surrounded by lush mountains. The peaks on the opposite side are covered in white armor in early autumn, while the ice peak in the middle shines coldly. In the middle of winter, the ice layer of Changhai reaches a thickness of 60 centimeters, and heavy trucks can also operate on it. Changhai can also be regarded as the mother of all Haizi in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area Valley. Because there is no outlet in Changhai, water can only be discharged by evaporation and underground rivers, which are important supplies of other Haizi water sources.
