Jiayuguan Pass

Jiayuguan Pass is located 5 kilometers west of Jiayuguan City, which is the western section of the Ming Great Wall. And the Town of Jiayuguan Pass was first built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Jiayuguan Pass Town, also called 关城 guānchéng in Chinese, located within the Jiayuguan Cultural Relics Scenic Area, has a panoramic area circumference of about 4 kilometers, which can be walked inside. If you have poor physical strength, you can rent a bicycle at the entrance for fun.

The entrance is on the east side, and upon entering, you can first see the Heishan Stone Carving Group, which is a group of stone carvings imitated by modern stonemasons, showcasing the history and culture of Jiayuguan. The Heishan Stone Carving Group has seven parks available for visitors to visit. They are celebrity inscription garden, ancient poetry garden, chronicle garden, story garden, guerrilla general stone carving garden, Wei and Jin tomb brick mural stone carving garden, and Heishan stone carving garden.

Continuing forward, you can see the Jiayuguan Great Wall Museum, which is a museum dedicated to the history and culture of the Great Wall. The advanced internal equipment showcases the history, culture, cultural relics, and scenery of the Great Wall and Jiayuguan.

Further ahead, you will reach the core area to the west. Before entering Guancheng, you can first visit Jiuyanquan Lake on your left. The Nine Eyed Spring is surrounded by abundant water and grass, with pleasant scenery, making it a good place for ancient troops to raise horses and guard the border for prevention. The Nine Eyes Spring now has rippling blue waves, crystal clear to the bottom. The beauty of the "Nine Eyes Spring" lies in its tranquility and calm waves.

The Jiayuguan Pass Town is divided into an inner city and an outer city, with three main city towers. The city walls also have buildings such as arrow towers, enemy towers, corner towers, attic towers, and gate towers. There are guerrilla general's mansion, well pavilion, and Wenchang pavilion built inside Guancheng City, and related imperial temples, archways, and theater buildings built outside the east gate. Each has its own history and characteristics, and is worth visiting one by one. Climbing up the city wall and looking into the distance, the foothills of Qilian Mountains stretch in the distance, and the vast Gobi grassland beneath them gives rise to a sense of historical tragedy.

There are also many small stalls in the scenic area, mostly featuring folk and historical characteristics. There are ancient costume group photos, calligraphy and painting sales, etc. You can visit them one by one and consume them when you encounter your favorite items. There are also various entertainment options available within the scenic spot, such as horseback riding, camel riding, sand sports cars, gliders, and more.
